If there is a misunderstanding, things go back, Member Election Commission
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has assured to submit an affidavit to the Election Commission on the misunderstanding regarding the intra-party elections.
A three-member bench headed by Member Election Commission Nisar Durrani heard the case related to PTI intra-party elections.
Tehreek-e-Insaf lawyer Ali Zafar and Barrister Gohar appeared before the commission, during which Ali Zafar took the stand that the PTI intra-party elections on 10 June 2022 had been held in accordance with the party constitution of 2019.
Ali Zafar said that more constitutional amendments were made on August 1, 2022, before which party elections were held, but there was a misunderstanding in the speech of party chief election commissioner Jamal Ansari.
On this, the Election Commission member said why you remained silent for three months, PTI lawyers took the stand that we were not aware of the order of the Election Commission, we came to know about this order in July and received the notice on August 2, so today we have made a statement. Will submit affidavit and answer.
The member commission said that if there is a misunderstanding, things are returned, submit an affidavit.
The Election Commission postponed the next hearing of the case till August 30
