Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice Retired Maqbool Baqir took oath of office

Maqbool Baqir will now elect his cabinet.

Justice Retired Maqbool Baqir has taken the oath of office as the designated Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh. Governor Kamran Tesori administered oath to him, now he will choose the provincial cabinet.

In Sindh, the ruling party Pakistan People’s Party had proposed the name of Justice Maqbool Baqir, the opposition party MQM had agreed on his name after consultation with other parties.

Who is Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir?
Justice retired Maqbool Baqir was born on 1957 in Karachi. He did his LLB from Karachi University, in 2002 he was appointed as Additional Judge in Sindh High Court and became a permanent judge in the following year.

After the retirement of Justice Mushir Alam, he served as Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, he was among the judges who refused to take oath under General Pervez Musharraf’s interim constitutional order and Justice Iftikhar Muhammad.
