The Chief Meteorologist says that in general, during the month of July, an average of 49 mm of rain falls in the country.
According to the statistics of the Meteorological Department, 79% of the rains have fallen so far in the past month, which is 60% more than normal, the same situation is likely to continue during August.
Sources from the Flood Forecasting Division have said that due to more than normal rains, the ratio of life and financial losses across the country was much higher than last year. Concerns cannot be ruled out, this situation will also affect the flow of water in the rivers.
