Energy saving plan: Decision to close shops, commercial areas across the country at 8 pm
By closing the markets soon, about 28.5 million units of electricity will be saved

The federal government (UrduLight.com) has decided to close shops and commercial areas across the country at 8 pm under the energy saving plan.

The National Economic Council meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in which the Chief Ministers of Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated while the Planning Minister of Balochistan also participated in the meeting.

The energy saving plan was presented in the meeting of the National Economic Council, in which it is proposed to close the markets at 8 pm, this decision will save 282 million dollars annually.

According to the sources, 28 lakh 50 thousand units of electricity will be saved by closing the markets across the country soon.

There is also a proposal to ban the use of ordinary light bulbs under the Energy Saving Plan, through which a saving of 103 million dollars is expected. By banning the use of ordinary bulbs, one billion units of electricity will be saved.

According to the sources, an estimated saving of 419 million dollars has been estimated for water geysers.

According to the report, the government has also decided to prepare a load management plan for discos and gas companies, while the implementation of the National Energy Saving Plan has been termed as a major challenge.

Sources say that the National Economic Council directed the federation and the provinces to implement the National Energy Saving Plan.

Briefing the media after the meeting, Ahsan Iqbal said that after reviewing the situation in the representation of all provinces in the National Economic Council, it was approved to close all shops from July 1 at 8 pm. Come on, if we control them, many problems will be solved.

Ahsan Iqbal said that in order to save energy, shops and commercial centers should be closed at 8 pm, in the same way that the lights, old bulbs, should be removed and LED lights should be used.

The Federal Minister of Planning said that one billion dollars can be saved annually with such measures. It is hoped that the provincial governments will implement the energy saving package that has been approved.

He further said that in this regard green energy projects like solar energy, hydraulic energy and wind energy projects will be promoted and in future we will not start any new energy projects on imported fuel.

On the other hand, traders rejected the federal government’s decision to close business at 8 pm.

All Pakistan Anjuman Tajran, while reacting to the government’s decision, has demanded that the government withdraw the decision to close the shops at 8 o’clock.

President All Pakistan Anjuman Tajran A Jamal Baloch has said in a statement on Tuesday that the shops will not be closed at 8 pm this summer. During the season there is no shopping during the day, during the summer season the shopping is only from 8 pm to 11 pm.
