Establishment of special courts to hear power theft cases is under consideration, caretaker minister

Caretaker Federal Energy Minister Muhammad Ali says that special courts are being considered to hear cases of power theft.

While holding a press conference in Islamabad, Muhammad Ali said that some steal electricity in the country and some do not pay, which causes a loss of 589 billion rupees.

He said that because of this theft and non-payment, the payers have to pay expensive electricity, so until the theft stops, the electricity bills will not decrease, that is why he has asked Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar to stop us from stealing electricity. To crack down on

The caretaker energy minister said that 5 distribution companies do not have 60 percent recovery, 5 discos have a loss of 79 billion rupees units.

Muhammad Ali said that the data of feeders have been obtained to take action against electricity theft, while the data of 4 feeders of Mardan has also been received, steps are being taken to stop electricity theft in three phases.

He said that lists of officials involved in electricity theft have been prepared, establishment of a task force at the provincial level will control electricity theft, a dashboard has been made in Islamabad under PPMC, to hear cases of electricity theft. Establishment of special courts is under consideration.
