Notification regarding new constituencies issued
The Election Commission meeting regarding new constituencies has ended, in which the Election Commission has decided to make new constituencies, the new constituencies will be done under digital census.
The meeting of the Election Commission regarding the new constituencies was chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner in which other officials including the members and secretary of the commission participated.
According to the sources, constitutional and legal complications were considered in the meeting, while the law wing gave a briefing on the said complications.
It was informed in the briefing that four to five months more will be required in case of constituencies.
After the meeting, the Election Commission has issued a notification regarding the new constituencies, and assistance has also been sought from the provincial governments and statistical institutes.
The Election Commission says that general elections cannot be held in 90 days.
