Osama Sati murder case; The guilty police officials challenged the sentence

Islamabad: The police officials who were convicted in the Osama Sati murder case have challenged the decision of punishment.

2 police officials who were sentenced to death in the case challenged the decision of the trial court in the Islamabad High Court.

A two-member bench of Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri will hear the appeal of the police officials today.

In the petition, the death sentence of police officers Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Mustafa has been requested to be annulled. It has been further stated in the petition that the decision of the trial court is against the law and should be declared null and void. The sentence passed by the trial court should be set aside and the case should be acquitted.

Later, the Islamabad High Court issued notices to the parties on the appeal against the decision of the trial court of 2 police officers who were sentenced to death in the Osama Sati murder case and sought their response by March 13.
