Pak Suzuki requested the Prime Minister not to impose new duties and taxes
Pakistan Suzuki (UrduLight.com) Motor Company (PSMC) has requested Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif not to impose new duties and taxes on the automotive sector in the upcoming Budget 2023-24, which is expected to be presented on June 9.
In a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) highlighted the struggles of its 40 years of operations in Pakistan.
Pak Suzuki said that it has already suffered a huge loss of Rs 200,000. 12.9 billion in the first quarter of this year due to the country’s economic conditions, due to which the company is witnessing several non-productive days (NPDs) every month.
It said that the company’s dealers and vendors are also facing adverse economic conditions and business conditions, some of which are already closed and many are on the verge of closure.
“As we are fighting for survival, we request the government not to impose any new duties and taxes in the upcoming federal budget, especially on vehicles up to 1000cc, which are mass produced.” said the letter.
