Notice issued to federal and Punjab government on Imran Khan’s jail transfer request
The Anti-Terrorism Court of Islamabad has issued summon notices to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan on different dates in 5 cases.
In the anti-terrorism court, a hearing was held on 5 cases filed under the Terrorism Act against Chairman PTI, while the lawyers of Chairman PTI, Jan Muhammad, Sardar Bhujji and Naeem Panjotha appeared in the court.
Lawyer Safai Jan Muhammad said that it is not easy to bring PTI chairman from jail to court every day.
On which Judge Abul Hasnat remarked that it is known that it is not appropriate to bring daily from the jail and the presence of the accused involved in the cases should also be marked.
Lawyer Safai Jan Muhammad requested that instead of keeping different dates for all the five cases, they should keep one date, they want Imran Khan’s attendance to be arranged without any difficulties, Chairman PTI also has security issues.
Judge Abul Hasnat remarked that Imran Khan has to come only one day, which is difficult, the number of co-accused is high, it will be difficult to schedule attendance separately, when there is a matter of summoning, then all the cases will be clubbed.
The court issued summon notices to former Prime Minister Imran Khan on different dates in 5 cases.
The court issued a summons notice in 2 cases registered in Ramna police station of Chairman PTI on September 25, in CTD and Sangjani police stations on October 12 and in Golra police station on October 5.
Notice issued on Imran Khan’s request to transfer Adiala Jail and provide A Class facilities
The Islamabad High Court issued a notice to the representatives of the federal and Punjab governments on the request of Chairman PTI Imran Khan to be transferred from Attock Jail to Central Jail Adiala and to provide A Class facilities in the jail.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Jahangiri heard the request of Chairman PTI for transfer from Attock Jail and provision of facilities.
On behalf of the petitioner, Babar Awan, Sardar Latif Khosa and Sher Afzal Marwat appeared in court along with the legal team.
Sardar Latif Khosa said that the report of District and Sessions Judge Attock’s jail visit has come out, a camera has been installed in front of Chairman PTI’s barracks.
Babar Awan said that Chairman PTI should be allowed to meet lawyers in jail. On which Chief Justice Amir Farooq said that the meeting is allowed, but the timings of their meeting were given, notices are being issued on the request, an appropriate order will also be issued on it.
Amjad Pervaiz, the lawyer of the Election Commission, said that I could not get the certified record of the case yet, along with the appeal, a request for suspension of sentence has also been filed, I request that I be given adequate time for preparation.
Sardar Latif Khosa said that I am against giving time to the counsel of the Election Commission, the court had issued a notice to the Election Commission and sought its reply today. I request that the request for suspension of sentence be approved today, the decision on Imran Khan’s request for suspension of sentence should be taken today.
He further said that the sentence given to the trial court chairman PTI is illegal, the sessions court did not have the authority to hear this case, the secretary of the election commission, not the election commission, to allow him to file the complaint. No authority, the trial court had pronounced the judgment without giving even a day’s time, the trial court had ended the right to defence.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq speaking to the lawyer of the Election Commission said that neither Khosa Sahib nor yours, we will keep it for the day after tomorrow.
The court adjourned the hearing on the appeal against the sentence of Chairman PTI till August 24, while the next hearing on the request for suspension of sentence will also be held on August 24.
