The world wanted Pakistan to default and become a spectacle: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that in the last few months we have returned 5 and a half billion dollars to different banks, the effort is to reach 15 billion dollars in the next 6 to 7 weeks.

Speaking at the Senate meeting, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that 10 years of CPEC are being completed, Alhamdulillah every payment was made on time, besides Saudi Arabia and UAE, China provided full financial support. The reserve is being further improved, it was said that the country will default by June 30, I said we are prepared, the country will not default.

He has said that the foreign exchange reserves are improving further, if it was not for the IMF program, we would have had a plan on how to move forward, the world wanted Pakistan to default and make a spectacle of it, Pakistan has all its Will meet international obligations well, when IMF is off track all funds stop, in the past Pakistan had become the 24th economy.

Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has further said that we had gone from 24th economy to 20th, today we have become 47th economy, everyone should think about what mistakes we have made, which was getting destroyed every week now. That decline has stopped, I always say IMF don’t favor us, we don’t go begging from IMF, Pakistan can and is capable of exiting.

He has said that since 2013 I have been listening to the Charter of Economy, now everyone is saying that there should be a Charter of Economy, the Charter of Economy can become a road map.
