Negotiations on the oil deal between Pakistan and Russia were going on for the past several months, but the deal was finalized in April.
Minister of State for Petroleum Mossadegh Malik said last month that the first shipment of Russian oil is likely to arrive in Karachi at the end of May.
He had said that if the first consignment reached the country easily, then Pakistan would try to import 100,000 barrels of Russian crude oil per day.
Now in his interview, Ahsan Iqbal has said that now a small amount of Russian oil is reaching Pakistan, after six months or a year when more oil from Russia will come to Pakistan, it will help to reduce the price of petrol in Pakistan. .
