It is rare to have a Kashmiri leader in Pakistan’s federal cabinet.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has also included Mashaal Malik, wife of Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, in his 18-member caretaker cabinet.
It is unusual to include a Kashmiri leader in Pakistan’s federal cabinet.
Mashaal Malik will work under Anwar Haq Kakar as Advisor to the Prime Minister on Human Rights.
After several days of speculation, the caretaker federal cabinet was finally sworn in. After which Ahmed Irfan Aslam will be the Law Minister while Shamshad Akhtar will take charge of the Caretaker Finance Minister position.
Similarly, Ahmed Tarar will be the Caretaker Minister of Communications and Sarfraz Bugti will be the Home Minister.
Similarly, Dr. Gohar Ijaz will be the Minister of Industry and Commerce and Aneeq Ahmed will be the Minister for Religious Affairs.
Syed Anwar Ali Haider has been given the portfolio of the Ministry of Defense while Murtaza Solangi has been given the Ministry of Information.
Jalil Jilani will be given the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Jamal Shah will be given the portfolio of Culture.
Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Anwar Ali Haider, Dr. Nadeem Jan, Muhammad Sami also took oath.
The swearing-in ceremony of the Caretaker Cabinet was held in the President’s House and President Arif Alvi took the oath of the Caretaker Federal Cabinet.
According to the sources, apart from the mentioned persons, Muhammad Ali, Waqar Masood, Ahad Cheema, Sultan Alana may also be included in the Cabinet of the Prime Minister.
